Nepal Hit by 6.1 Magnitude Earthquake; tremors felt in parts of India

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal in the early hours of Friday. The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center reported that the epicenter was located in Bhairavkunda, Sindhupalchok district. The tremor was recorded at 2:51 AM local time.
Authorities stated that tremors were felt across several regions of Nepal, particularly in the eastern and central parts of the country. Initial reports indicate no casualties or property damage. Local officials are currently assessing the situation in the affected areas.
The earthquake's impact was also felt in neighboring regions, including parts of India, Tibet, and China.
