Payyavula Keshav Presents AP Budget in Assembly, Strongly Criticizes Previous YSRCP Government

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the 2025-26 full-fledged state budget in the Assembly, during which he launched a sharp attack on the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government. He alleged that the financial condition of the state had severely deteriorated under YSRCP’s rule, to the extent that Andhra Pradesh was no longer eligible to secure loans.
Keshav accused the YSRCP administration of financial mismanagement, claiming that it had created a chaotic economic situation. He further alleged that the previous government fostered an atmosphere of fear by arresting opposition leaders. Referring to the recent election results, he stated that the people had delivered a decisive verdict in favor of the ruling coalition, granting it a resounding victory.
Drawing a historical reference, Keshav remarked, “Kautilya said that the happiness of the common people is the happiness of the king, and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is governing accordingly.” He emphasized that after the coalition government took charge, it presented white papers to inform the public about the state's financial situation under YSRCP’s rule.
The Finance Minister stated that the new government faced numerous challenges after coming to power but asserted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is handling them effectively and steering the state toward development. He also alleged that the previous government had brought Andhra Pradesh to such a dire financial condition that even paying salaries had become difficult. "Negligence and destruction were rampant under the previous administration," Keshav criticized.
