“No Vision, No Wisdom, Only Illusion”: YS Sharmila on AP Budget
Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila has strongly criticized the state government’s full-fledged budget of ₹3.22 lakh crore, presented today under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. She alleged that this budget proves the government is not for the people but against them. Calling it a “Super Six… Super Flop,” she accused the ruling coalition of misleading the public.

“The coalition government’s first budget is all about grand numbers but lacks real allocations. It is a mere numbers game—an illusion with no direction or purpose. The state is struggling, and this budget is hollow. The government has completely ignored election promises, betraying public expectations. The much-publicized ‘Super Six’ schemes have been abandoned,” Sharmila said.

She further criticized the budget, stating, “There is no vision, no wisdom—only deception. There is no mission, no meaning—just a grand illusion.”

Sharmila questioned the budget allocations for key welfare schemes. “The Annadata Sukhibhava scheme has been allocated ₹6,300 crore, but how far will this amount go? There are 54 lakh farmers in the state who require ₹11,000 crore in aid. Instead, the government is making them wait for central matching grants. When farmers are struggling due to unstable prices, allocating just ₹300 crore for price stabilization is nothing but betrayal.”

She also pointed out the budget cuts in education. “For the Talliki Vandanam scheme, ₹12,600 crore is required to support 84 lakh students, but only ₹9,407 crore has been allocated. This clearly means a drastic reduction in beneficiary numbers.”

Regarding the Deepam-2 scheme, she said, “It requires ₹4,500 crore annually, but only ₹2,601 crore has been allocated. If there are 1.5 crore beneficiaries, how many are they planning to exclude by cutting funds in half?”

Sharmila also slammed the government for neglecting women’s welfare. “There is no mention of free bus travel for women. Despite presenting a budget of over ₹3 lakh crore, they couldn’t allocate ₹350 crore for this scheme. They promised ₹1,500 per month under the Mahashakti scheme, but now that scheme has vanished. They deceived DWCRA women by promising ₹10 lakh interest-free loans but failed to deliver.”

She criticized the lack of support for unemployed youth. “There is no mention of ₹3,000 unemployment allowance or a job calendar. Without allocating a single rupee, they have deceived 50 lakh unemployed individuals.”

Lastly, she attacked the government for not allocating funds for the state capital. “Not a single rupee has been allocated for the state capital. Do you think you can build Amaravati just with debts? This is sheer irresponsibility. You have deceived the people, abandoned election promises, and completely misled the public,” she stated.
