Andhra Pradesh to Become a Digitally Literate State: CM Chandrababu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the need for every citizen in the state to become digitally literate, with the goal of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a fully digitally literate state. He urged officials to take the necessary steps to achieve this objective. The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat on People’s Perception and Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) initiatives.
During the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the progress of the government’s WhatsApp Governance initiative. He stated that the government is ensuring that citizens can access all government services through WhatsApp Governance without having to visit offices. However, he noted that public awareness about this initiative is still limited and directed district collectors to take responsibility for increasing awareness and encouraging widespread usage. He suggested that village and ward secretariats, along with their staff, should actively educate people about the benefits of WhatsApp Governance.
The Chief Minister explained that through WhatsApp Governance, citizens can not only avail of government services but also submit complaints and petitions. He announced that a new feature allowing illiterate individuals to submit complaints using voice messages via WhatsApp Governance would be introduced soon. He added that as digital literacy among citizens increases, the effectiveness and utility of WhatsApp Governance will also grow.
IT and Real-Time Governance Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni informed the Chief Minister that the government currently provides 200 services through WhatsApp Governance. By the end of this month, an additional 150 services will be introduced, bringing the total to 350. In the next phase, the government aims to expand the number of services to 500. He also revealed plans to leverage artificial intelligence on a large scale to integrate all services into a single digital platform under the "One State, One App" initiative, ensuring that all government services are accessible through one unified application.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana, Minister for Agriculture K. Acchennaidu, Minister for Home Affairs Vangalapudi Anitha, Minister for Forests Kondapalli Srinivas, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, Chief Minister’s Secretaries Muddada Ravichandra, P.S.
