Ex-Assam CM’s Daughter Beats Driver with Slipper, Video Goes Viral

A video featuring the daughter of former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta has gone viral on social media. The footage shows her making a man kneel while repeatedly striking him with a slipper. The incident reportedly took place on Monday at the MLAs' Guest House in Dispur.

According to Mahanta’s daughter, the man in the video had been working as a driver for her father for several years. She alleged that he frequently consumed alcohol and misbehaved with her, using offensive language. Despite multiple warnings, his behavior did not change, she claimed.

On Monday, the driver allegedly arrived intoxicated and knocked aggressively on her house door, prompting her to take action against him. She justified the beating, stating it was a form of punishment for his continued misconduct. However, when asked why she had not filed a police complaint against him earlier, she did not provide a response.

Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, a former president of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), served as Assam’s Chief Minister twice, from 1985 to 1990 and again from 1996 to 2001.
