We Are Providing More Security to Jagan Than Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan: Nara Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh stated in the Assembly that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is receiving higher security than Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Lokesh clarified that Jagan has been provided Z-plus category security and dismissed the allegations made by YSRCP leaders that the state government was neglecting his safety.
YSRCP leaders had previously criticized the Andhra Pradesh government, claiming that Jagan’s security was being deliberately ignored as part of a conspiracy. They also submitted a letter to the Union Home Ministry, requesting central forces for Jagan’s protection. Responding to these allegations, Lokesh accused YSRCP leaders of spreading falsehoods and assured that the government is not acting with personal vendetta.
Lokesh recalled a past statement made by Jagan in the Assembly, where he allegedly said that if five MLAs were taken away, Chandrababu Naidu would lose the status of the Leader of the Opposition. Lokesh emphasized that opposition status is granted based on numerical strength and not personal preferences. He also remarked that it is ultimately the people who decide the political positioning of leaders.
Further criticizing the YSRCP’s actions in the Assembly, Lokesh accused them of disrupting the Governor’s address. He contrasted this with previous protests by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), stating that their demonstrations were conducted near their benches and did not involve storming the podium. He also referred to Rule 121(c) of Parliament, which clearly defines the strength required for a party to be recognized as the main opposition.
Lokesh reiterated that meaningful discussions in legislative bodies are essential for public welfare and emphasized the need for constructive debates in the Assembly.
