Atchannaidu Announces Key Decision on 'Annadata Sukhibhava' Scheme

Andhra Pradesh Minister Atchannaidu has announced that the 'Annadata Sukhibhava' scheme will be implemented from May. He stated that all eligible farmers would receive a direct cash transfer of ₹20,000 under the scheme. Additionally, he mentioned that the government is finalizing the guidelines to extend the scheme’s benefits to tenant farmers.
Speaking in the Legislative Council, Atchannaidu criticized the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, alleging that it had deceived farmers. He asserted that the current coalition government is committed to supporting the agricultural community. He further accused the YSRCP administration of causing severe setbacks to the agricultural sector, citing the lack of soil testing, the absence of agricultural machinery, and unpaid crop insurance claims as major issues. He reiterated the government's commitment to fully backing farmers in all aspects.
Meanwhile, another minister, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, alleged that large-scale corruption took place during the YSRCP regime under the 'Aadudam Andhra' program. He announced that an independent committee would be formed to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter, with a report expected within 45 days.
