Singer Kalpana Responds to Suicide Attempt Reports

Renowned singer Kalpana has responded to reports claiming that she attempted suicide over issues related to her daughter. Kalpana clarified that she did not attempt suicide but had taken an excessive dose of sleeping pills due to stress caused by misunderstandings with her daughter.

According to a press note released by the Kukatpally Housing Board police, Kalpana stated that there was no foul play involved in the incident. The police confirmed that the excessive intake of sleeping pills led to her condition.

Officials revealed that Kalpana has been residing in Hyderabad with her husband for the past five years. They also noted that conflicts had arisen between Kalpana and her daughter, Daya Prasad, regarding educational matters. Reportedly, Kalpana had come alone to their Hyderabad residence. Her husband, Prasad, had repeatedly tried to contact her but received no response, prompting him to alert the colony welfare members.

Concerned welfare members called the emergency helpline (Dial 100) and informed the authorities. When the police and welfare members attempted to open the door but failed, they entered the house through the kitchen door at the back. They found Kalpana in an unconscious state and immediately rushed her to the hospital.
