‘Mana Mitra’ Services Reach 200 Under Nara Lokesh’s Initiative

The ‘Mana Mitra’ WhatsApp governance platform, launched by the Andhra Pradesh government to simplify access to public services, has achieved a significant milestone by expanding its offerings to 200 services within just 50 days. This initiative, spearheaded by Minister Nara Lokesh, was introduced on January 30 this year with the aim of providing 161 types of public services through WhatsApp.
This development is being seen as a testament to Andhra Pradesh’s digital governance capabilities. On October 22 last year, Nara Lokesh signed an agreement with Meta representatives in Delhi on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government. Recently, students appearing for their 10th and Intermediate exams were able to receive their hall tickets via WhatsApp, showcasing the platform’s growing utility.
The government launched this initiative to eliminate the need for citizens to visit offices for various public services. By sending a WhatsApp message to Mana Mitra at 9552300009, people can now access 200 different government services, spanning education, endowments, electricity, RTC, revenue, Anna Canteens, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), and municipal services. The platform also facilitates electricity bill payments, tax payments, temple visit bookings, accommodation reservations, and donations.
Additionally, information on tourist destinations and ticket bookings can be accessed through WhatsApp. Revenue-related services such as land records and income certificates can also be obtained seamlessly. This initiative leverages advanced technology to bring government services directly to citizens, marking a significant advancement in digital governance.
