Tornado Devastation Continues Across Multiple U.S. States

Severe storms continue to wreak havoc across several states in the United States, with tornadoes causing significant destruction. Authorities have issued tornado warnings for North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia as the extreme weather persists. In North Carolina, strong winds have damaged multiple structures, while in Mississippi, three people have lost their lives.
In Oklahoma, several homes have suffered roof damage due to powerful winds. Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana have already been hit by seven tornadoes, causing widespread devastation. In Texas' San Patricio County, strong winds triggered a wildfire that destroyed over 20 homes.
Officials have also issued warnings of heavy rainfall and snowfall due to an incoming severe storm from the Pacific region. With heavy snowfall affecting several areas, authorities have closed multiple roads. The adverse weather has led to power outages in approximately 51,000 homes in Texas, 27,000 in Virginia, and 17,000 in Tennessee. Additionally, nearly 800 flights have been disrupted due to the extreme conditions.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Alfred has battered eastern Australia, particularly on Thursday, bringing heavy rains that have paralyzed public transportation. Hundreds of schools have been closed due to the storm's impact. Authorities have warned of severe effects on Queensland’s Brisbane city. In New South Wales, power outages have affected 4,500 homes.
