SIT to Probe Suspicious Deaths of Witnesses in Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case
District SP Ashok Kumar has responded to the death of Ranganna, a key eyewitness in the murder case of former minister Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy. He stated that Ranganna was a crucial witness in the case and that there were suspicions surrounding his death. The SP added that an investigation is underway to clarify the doubts regarding Ranganna’s demise.

SP Ashok Kumar revealed that, so far, five witnesses in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case have died under suspicious circumstances. He identified them as Srinivasa Reddy, Gangadhar Reddy, Abhishek Reddy, driver Narayana Yadav, and watchman Ranganna.

To investigate the circumstances of these deaths, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is being formed, the SP stated. The SIT will comprise two DSPs, three CIs, and two SIs. The investigation will also examine whether the accused had any involvement in the deaths of these witnesses, and all possible angles will be explored. Additionally, technical experts will be involved in the inquiry.

SP Ashok Kumar emphasized that protecting witnesses in the case is a priority. He assured that if any witnesses request protection, security will be provided to them. Furthermore, he mentioned that investigations are also being carried out into the case of alleged threats against Dastagiri.
