Center Announces Key Decision on Loans for Amaravati Construction

The Central Government has made a crucial announcement regarding loans for the construction of Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The Ministry of Finance stated that the Central Government is providing full support for Amaravati’s development and is assisting in securing loans for its construction.

The Finance Ministry clarified that loans taken from institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for Amaravati’s construction will not be counted under Andhra Pradesh’s debt obligations. It further stated that these loans should not be included within the state's borrowing limits.

This information was provided in a written response by Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, in the Lok Sabha, in reply to a question posed by a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) member.
