I Do Not Accept the Supreme Court Verdict: Mamata Banerjee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made a strong statement rejecting the recent Supreme Court verdict that cancelled the appointments of 25,000 school teachers in the state. The court, while delivering a landmark judgment, directed the West Bengal government to initiate fresh recruitment processes. The ruling has triggered widespread distress among the affected teachers, many of whom were seen weeping openly in protest.

In response to the verdict, Mamata Banerjee declared, “I will not accept the Supreme Court’s judgment under any circumstances.” She further stated, “Even if I am sent to jail, I will not accept this verdict.” Acknowledging the possibility of being charged with contempt of court for her comments, she said, “They may imprison me for contempt of court for saying this.”

Mamata Banerjee emphasized her commitment to protecting the jobs of all affected individuals, saying, “As long as I am alive, no one will lose their job.” She asserted that it is her responsibility to safeguard every employee's position. Addressing those who challenge her, she remarked, “I know how to respond to those who dare to challenge me.”
