Finance Commission Praises Andhra's WhatsApp-Based Citizen Services
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu provided detailed explanations to the 16th Finance Commission regarding various initiatives undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Government. Following his presentation, the Commission members shared their observations and feedback on these matters. Among the initiatives discussed, the WhatsApp Governance system introduced by the state government received significant appreciation from both the Chairman and other members of the Commission.

Chairman Arvind Panagariya asked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu whether the WhatsApp Governance model had been brought to the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In response, the Chief Minister stated that it had not yet been presented, but he intended to explain the project to the Prime Minister during their scheduled meeting next month.

N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government is creating a system where citizens can access public services via WhatsApp, eliminating the need to visit government offices. He further announced that 1,000 services would soon be made available through this platform. The Chief Minister emphasized that this would enhance accessibility and convenience for all residents.

Arvind Panagariya commended N. Chandrababu Naidu for personally delivering the presentation on economic matters, noting that it was a surprising and impressive gesture. He also praised the Chief Minister’s in-depth analysis of growth statistics and his efforts to secure central government support.

Finance Commission member Annezar George Mathew recalled visiting Hyderabad 30 years ago and observed the remarkable development it has achieved since then. She attributed this transformation to the vision of N. Chandrababu Naidu. She expressed confidence that Amaravati, under his leadership, would witness similar development.
