Delhi High Court slams Baba Ramdev over comments on Hamdard Sharbat

The Delhi High Court has expressed strong displeasure with Yoga guru Baba Ramdev over his remarks concerning the Hamdard beverage. The court stated that the comments made by Baba Ramdev were shocking and in no way justifiable.
A few days ago, Baba Ramdev made indirect but severe allegations about Hamdard’s Sharbat, suggesting that the profits from its sales were being used to fund construction activities for another ideological group. In contrast, he claimed that by consuming a beverage from the Patanjali brand, it would be possible to construct Gurukuls and expand the Patanjali University.
The video of Baba Ramdev’s statements became controversial and drew widespread attention. In response, Hamdard approached the Delhi High Court seeking immediate removal of the video from social media platforms.
Representing Hamdard, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi argued that Baba Ramdev’s statements went beyond disrespecting the product and amounted to hate speech. The court, reacting to the argument, stated, “Baba Ramdev’s comments have shocked the conscience of the court. Such remarks are not acceptable in any manner.”
