IPL 2025: Mukesh Kumar’s Heroics Help Delhi Restrict LSG to 159

Delhi Capitals pacer Mukesh Kumar delivered a devastating spell that rattled the Lucknow Super Giants in their home ground at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Lucknow. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Delhi Capitals restricted Lucknow Super Giants to a modest total of 159 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs.
Mukesh Kumar spearheaded the Delhi bowling attack with an impressive haul of 4 wickets, playing a key role in derailing Lucknow’s innings. Among his notable dismissals was Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant, who was dismissed for a duck. Despite a strong start by the Lucknow openers, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh, who put together a partnership of 87 runs for the first wicket, Mukesh Kumar’s breakthroughs in the middle overs ensured that the momentum could not be sustained.
Markram scored 52 runs while Marsh contributed 45. Later in the innings, Ayush Badoni added 36 runs, attempting to stabilize the innings. However, other batters failed to capitalize. Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for 9, and Abdul Samad managed only 2 runs. David Miller remained unbeaten with 14 runs.
Among the bowlers supporting Mukesh Kumar, Mitchell Starc and Dushmantha Chameera picked up a wicket each, contributing to Delhi Capitals’ effective bowling performance.
