Madhava Reddy, Associate of Former Minister Peddireddy, Arrested
The Andhra Pradesh CID police arrested Vankareddy Madhava Reddy, a close associate of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, in connection with the destruction of official records at the Madanapalle sub-collector’s office in Annamayya district. Madhava Reddy had been absconding for nearly a month.

Despite continued surveillance by the CID, efforts to apprehend him had proven unsuccessful. Acting on a tip-off, officials conducted a raid at a farmhouse located in Peddagottigallu village of Rompicherla mandal, Chittoor district, where Madhava Reddy was reportedly staying. He was taken into custody during this operation.

According to the CID, Madhava Reddy is considered the main conspirator in the July 21, 2024, incident involving the burning of revenue documents. CID authorities stated that Madhava Reddy constructed a function hall in Peddagottigallu and was renting it out. Using a pretext of renting the venue, a team led by CID DSP Kondayya Naidu conducted a reconnaissance and successfully apprehended him.

During the arrest, Madhava Reddy allegedly attempted to dispose of his mobile phones by throwing them into water. However, DSP Kondayya Naidu reportedly intercepted him and secured the devices. He was then transported to Tirupati, where his mobile phones were confiscated for investigation.

The CID reiterated its allegations that Madhava Reddy played a key role in the planned destruction of official revenue documents and stated that charges had already been filed against him.
