Pahalgam Attack Disrupts Indo-Pak Wedding Plans

The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has led to serious consequences, exacerbating tensions between India and Pakistan. In response to the incident, the Government of India has taken several stringent measures. As part of these actions, the Attari-Wagah border has been closed, resulting in the abrupt cancellation of a cross-border wedding.
According to the details, a young man named Saitan Singh from Rajasthan was scheduled to travel to Pakistan for his wedding. The bride resides in Pakistan, and the marriage had been arranged between the two families. Several relatives of the groom had already reached Pakistan for the ceremony. All arrangements were proceeding smoothly when the terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam.
The attack, carried out by terrorists, claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians. In a strong reaction to the incident, the Indian government imposed several restrictions on Pakistan and announced the immediate closure of the Attari-Wagah border.
As a result of this decision, the route for Saitan Singh to reach the bride's home in Pakistan was blocked. This left him deeply disheartened. Speaking to the news agency ANI, Saitan Singh expressed his anguish: “What the terrorists did is very wrong. Due to the border closure, we are not being allowed to travel to Pakistan. Now we have to see what happens next,” he said, adding that an unexpected obstacle had halted the wedding that was supposed to take place at the designated time.
Saitan Singh’s brother, Surinder Singh, also responded to the incident. “The attack on tourists in Pahalgam is very unfortunate. This attack has affected not only our family but the lives of many innocent civilians,” he said. He described the cancellation of a wedding the family had eagerly awaited as deeply saddening.
