Let Us Make PM Modi's Amaravati Visit a Grand Success: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has called on the people and political leaders to extend a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Andhra Pradesh on May 2 for the recommencement of Amaravati capital development works. Addressing a teleconference with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders on Monday, Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of making the event a success. He described Amaravati as a symbol of pride and self-respect for the Telugu people and urged leaders to ensure that attendees at the event do not face any inconvenience.
Chandrababu Naidu asserted that Amaravati is a matter of pride for the people of Andhra Pradesh. “Just as every family dreams of having a good house to live in, a capital city is essential for people to take pride in their state. It is due to the NDA's policy of decentralized development that, since 2014, central educational institutions have been established in the Uttarandhra, Coastal Andhra, and Rayalaseema regions. We aim to develop all regions equally. Telangana derives 70 percent of its revenue from Hyderabad, Karnataka from Bengaluru, and Tamil Nadu from Chennai. If we have a well-developed city, it will bring ample revenue to the state. That is why we are building Amaravati. Amaravati is the soul of the state,” said Chandrababu Naidu.
The Chief Minister cautioned against forces that, according to him, were deliberately misleading the public. He noted that farmers voluntarily gave up their land for the capital, and that the government was constructing the capital on those lands while also providing residential and commercial plots to the farmers. “We are making farmers stakeholders in the capital. As industries arrive in the state, large-scale employment opportunities will open up for the youth. With improved roads and transportation infrastructure, the economy will be strengthened. However, some opposing forces are trying to mislead the public with conspiracies and attempts to malign developmental efforts. We must make the public aware and also explain the good work we are doing. Ministers and MLAs must take responsibility and communicate with the people. Despite the challenges, we are committed to welfare and development,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.
The Chief Minister said that the government is moving forward by fulfilling its election promises within ten months of coming to power. “We are progressing while keeping our pre-election commitments. The central government has sanctioned funds for the Polavaram project, approved the Visakhapatnam railway zone, and allocated ₹11,400 crore for the steel plant. We have initiated steps to set up industries aimed at creating jobs for the youth. Welfare schemes are being implemented. We have already launched initiatives for fishermen, SC categorization, Annapurna canteens, pensions, and the provision of three gas cylinders. Additionally, a notification has been issued to fill 16,347 teacher posts under the DSC recruitment. Next month, we will extend investment support to farmers under the ‘Annadata’ scheme,” he said.
Speaking on industrial development, Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to establish industrial parks across 42 constituencies in the state, with an eventual goal to cover all 175 constituencies. “This will help realize the vision of ‘One Family… One Entrepreneur’. We will also proceed with the construction of the Rayalaseema Steel Plant. Visakhapatnam will be developed as the financial capital, and Tirupati as a spiritual city. Leading global companies like ArcelorMittal are investing ₹1 lakh crore in steel projects at Ramayapatnam and Anakapalli.
Once the Mittal plant is complete, the undivided Visakhapatnam district will emerge as the top steel-producing region in the country. We will develop Rayalaseema in the sectors of defense, electronics, automobiles, drones, satellite launching, and green energy. Rayalaseema will be well-connected through highways and airports to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, making it a logistics hub,” said Chandrababu Naidu.
The teleconference was attended by key leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
