Lady Teacher Flees with 11-Year-Old Student, Caught at Rajasthan Border

A shocking incident has come to light in Surat, Gujarat, where a 23-year-old female teacher fled with her 11-year-old male student. Despite switching off her primary phone, she was eventually located through a secondary number that remained active. The duo was traced and apprehended four days later, 390 kilometres away, near the Rajasthan border.
The teacher, who had earned a reputation as a committed educator, went missing with the boy on April 25. According to the police investigation, both the teacher and the student decided to leave due to pressure and scolding from their respective families.
After fleeing, the teacher turned off her main mobile phone, complicating the search efforts. The police launched a wide-ranging search operation, scanning railway stations, bus depots, and CCTV footage across the city. However, no immediate clues were found. Eventually, a breakthrough came when the authorities tracked a second phone number that the teacher had secretly kept active, leading them to the fugitives.
A four-member police team from Pune, operating in Surat, was assigned to the case. Around 4 a.m., the teacher and the student were found on a bus near Shamlaji, close to the Rajasthan border, bringing an end to the four-day search. It was noted that they had travelled approximately 390 kilometres from Surat.
The investigation revealed that the teacher and the student had known each other for three years, with a friendly rapport existing between their families. The boy, a fifth-grade student and the son of a grocery merchant in Pune area of Surat, had been attending tuition classes with the teacher. For the past year, he was her only student, which reportedly strengthened their bond.
Police sources stated that the teacher had been facing familial pressure to get married, while the student too was reportedly under academic pressure from his family. These circumstances reportedly led the two to make a calculated decision to flee together. The incident has sparked widespread discussion. Police investigations are ongoing.
