Telangana governor lauds the makers of robotic sanitizer vehicle
Hyderabad, Aug 26: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has appreciated the efforts of Hyderabad Science Society in designing and producing a robotic sanitizer vehicle.
The Hyderabad Science Society representatives Tripuraneni Vara Prasad and Sanjar Ali Khan have given a special demonstration of the robotic sanitizer vehicle for the Governor at the Raj Bhavan.
She said that to face and overcome the Covid-19 challenges, we need to come up with new ideas and innovations. She called for increased research in the prevention and containment of Covid-19 spread by coming up with innovative ideas and innovations. Innovation is the need of the hour, she added.
E-governance and e-offices are the need of the hour: Governor
Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday called for the e-governance and e-offices at the every possible level so as to offer transparent, effective and speedier services to the people.
She said that paperless offices greatly prevent the cutting of trees and contribute to the environment protection and ensure the accountability at all levels. The e-offices will also empower the people to get their rightful works and services done in a cost-effective and less cumbersome process.
The Governor was speaking at a presentation programme on e-office initiatives by the Information and Technology department of the State at the Raj Bhavan, here.
Calling for the expedited implementation of the e-offices project, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India Mission has given a fillip to the –governance, digital transactions, online classes and online shopping too.
“Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, India was moving much ahead in the digital initiatives and they proved very helpful during the pandemic situation. Earlier digital-based activities were a luxury, but now they have become mandatory as we are living in the digital era,” the Governor added.
She called upon all the educational institutions including universities to introduce e-offices to offer a plethora of services to the students on the digital platforms and thus help them get the services from wherever they are and in an expedited manner.

Universities need to explore alumni services: Governor
“Universities and other educational institutions need to explore the services of their alumni for the overall improvement of infrastructure and other services offered to the students,” said Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
She said that alumni are the biggest untapped resource for any institution and it is high time that their services must be channelized in a systematic and organised manner.
The Governor was speaking at a presentation made by the NIC team on the alumni networking in the State, as envisaged by the Governor who is also the Chancellor of the State universities, at Raj Bhavan, here, on Wednesday.
“Small contributions made by the alumni members would prove a great value to the students of those institutions. Everybody will feel proud to be connected with their organisations and they can do their bit in many forms like donations, offering internships, employment opportunities or funding the students’ projects and sponsoring events and start-ups,” Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan added.
The Governor pointed out that universities need not suffer for want of funding through traditional means; instead they should rope in the alumni services by creating open, transparent and accountable alumni network.
The Governor said that it was her long dream to connect with the alumni and help them motivate to do service to their institutions where they studied. She recollected one such alumni initiative through which they could save their Anatomy Lab, which was a heritage structure, during her college days in the Madras Medical College.
There will be a very grand initiative very soon on the networking of alumni in the State, she added.
National Informatics Centre (NIC) Deputy Director General Raja Shekar and his team made a detailed presentation to the Governor on the networking of alumni in the State.
Governor Secretary K. Surendra Mohan, Joint Secretaries J. Bhavani Shankar and CN Raghu Prasad and other senior officials and representatives of Osmania University and JNTUH were present.
