Telangana Governor calls for greater awareness on eSanjeevani
Hyderabad, Nov 02: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has called for greater awareness creation on the eSanjeevani, free telemedicine services being offered by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
She said that the free online OPD services being offered as part of the National Teleconsultation Service need to be popularised on a priority basis for the benefit of the people.
The Governor was addressing at the webinar on “Improving teleconsultation services using eSanjeevani platform of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in Telangana State,” on Monday.
Emphasising the need for popularising the eSanjeevani, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that as Telangana is known as the IT hub and has the best of the infrastructure, people would be enabled to utilise the services with better awareness creation.
She stated that free OPD through eSanjeevani is the need of the hour during this Covid-19 pandemic time as the people can avail of the services from the confines of their home in a safe manner.
The Governor pointed out that there was an overwhelming response to her telemedicine service during the floods in Hyderabad.
“Tele-medicine is free and safe. It would avoid further potential infections during hospital visits. As the clinics and OPD services remain closed in most of the areas, this eSanjeevani is a big boon for people,” the Governor added.
Patients with cancer, renal, gynecology, cardiac issues, and complications other than Covid-19 can also utilise eSanjeevani services through free OPD.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan suggested the utilisation of services of retired doctors or other medical professionals who were keeping out of their OPD clinics during the pandemic.
AIIMS, Bibinagar, Executive Director Dr. Vikas Bhatia, and eSanjeevani Project Director Dr. Sanjay Sood of C-DAC, Mohali, were among others who were present in the webinar.
