Nation benefits from empowered women: Governor
“Not only the families, the nation itself benefits from the empowered women,” said Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
She stated that nation gets immensely benefited through the initiatives of the empowered and economically independent women.
Every rupee earned by women is spent for the family and it helps provide better education, health, and nutrition to the family members.
The Governor was addressing at the valedictory of the first batch of self-employment training programme for the Raj Bhavan parivar women as part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat women empowerment initiative at the Raj Bhavan Community hall, here, on Friday.
On the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan stated that her resolution for the New Year is to buy local goods and material wherever possible so as to economically help the sons and daughters of the soil.
“We need to follow the Vocal for Local path shown by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strengthen our internal economy and reduce imports,” the Governor added.
Referring to many famous local products, she pointed out that Telangana Ikkath sarees are of global quality and standards and need to be promoted all over the world.
The Governor appreciated the dedication and commitment shown by trainees in learning skills and coming out with artistic and aesthetically beautiful designs of blouses, waist belts, hangings, and masks through Maggam works.
“Self-employment boosts our confidence. I am the happiest person today to witness your artistry and mastery in coming out with beautiful designer works. Your economic contribution and economic independence gives me great satisfaction,” Governor appreciated the trainees.
The self-employment training programme to empower the women of Raj Bhavan was initiated as per the vision of the Governor to supplement the incomes of the Raj Bhavan parivar women so as to help them tide over the Covid-19 economic crisis.
The training was organised in association with the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs (ALEAP). The second batch of training was launched as part of the celebrations.
Governor stated that she was surprised at the confidence levels and creative designs of the participants during her interaction with them.
