FM Nirmala Seetharaman on Central funds to Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh was given additional funds during the last three years in terms of Andhra Pradesh Re-organization Act apart from devolution and the Central share of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs). Department of Expenditure (DoE), Govt. of India has released Rs. 1976.50 crore in 2016-17 and Rs.15.81 crore in 2018-19 to the State of Andhra Pradesh under heads shown in Annexure. Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (MoWR, RD & GR) has released Rs. 2514.70 crore in 2016-17, Rs. 2000 crore in 2017-18 and Rs. 1400 crore in 2018-19 respectively towards Polavaram Irrigation Project.
Rs. 10169.20 crore, Rs. 20505.72 crore and Rs. 19698.01 crore was transferred to the State of Andhra Pradesh under various heads from the Central Government in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively.
This was stated by the Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in a written reply to a Parliament Question in Rajya Sabha today.
