Hyderabad Runners announce 10th Edition of Airtel Hyderabad Marathon

Hyderabad, November 1, 2021: Hyderabad Runners Society and Bharti Airtel together with the Govt. of Telangana announced the launch of the 10th Edition of the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon. The Government has been supporting the annual city mega sporting event organized by the Hyderabad Runners Society, which recently celebrated Fifteen years of promoting active lifestyles and promoting running as the preferred form of fitness activity.
This annual city sporting event will be held on 19th December 2021 with active participation of over 10,000 runners from across the city, country and overseas. Additionally, around 2500 volunteers from the city put their efforts into the event. Considered to be among the leading & challenging city marathons in India, this race also marks the return of City Marathon Events in India after the break in year 2020 due to covid restrictions.
Mr. Avneet Singh Puri, CEO, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bharti Airtel Ltd, and Mr. Prashant Morparia, Race Director, Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, were present at the event.
Considered as one of the most popular and highly rated marathons in India, Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, is in it’s 10th year. With over 10,000 runners, health & fitness enthusiasts, over 2000 volunteers, 250 medical personnel, city officials and a large deployment of police, the city comes together to energize this sporting extravaganza on Sunday: December 19th 2021. The event will consist of 10K, Half Marathon (21.095 km) & Full Marathon (42.195 km) races.
The marathon event will be held with safety precautions warranted by the COVID protocols, which include the participants being verified for their fully vaccinated status, maintaining COVID appropriate behaviour during the run. Efforts to minimize close contacts with fellow participants and volunteers will be put in place. Guidelines from Public Health authorities and medical team will be followed throughout the event for safe environment for all.

Hyderabad Runners Society, the event promoter, aims to promote running as the preferred form of fitness activity for an active lifestyle. The Full and Half Marathon covering a distance of 42.195 kms and 21.095 kms will traverse the important landmarks in the city giving the runners a picturesque view of the Hussain Sagar Lake, IT & Knowledge hub of HiTec City & Gachibowli while spreading the healthy lifestyle theme among Hyderabad denizens.
