Top Luxury features that MG Astor offers to its Customers
Ever wondered what makes luxury cars so desirable? It’s the add-on features in a luxury car that make them an enviable and aspirational asset for so many car enthusiasts. Those days are history when mere touchscreen infotainment in a car was perceived by one and all to be an impressive feature, far above the realms of the budget.
Everyone wishes to see some of the advanced features in their cars, which will make their drive on the roads of India comfortable and safer. There are many luxury car features for regular cars that we wish were present in the car. MG has been in the Indian market for some time now and has only been launching SUVs in the market. Recently, MG launched its mid-size SUV Astor to capitalize on the hottest selling segment in India. This is MG’s 4th offering in India after Hector, ZS EV & Gloster and yet again they have come up with another industry first in segment AI-enabled car.
Let’s check out a list of some luxury features Astor provide to make itself a premium one in the segment.
Safety with ADAS Level 2 –
From April 2019 onwards, the government has mandated all new cars on sale, including entry-level vehicles, to have dual front airbags and ABS as standard. Here Astor provides the ADAS package which brings Level-2 autonomous driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning. Other safety features on the MG Astor include up to six airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, ESP, traction control, hill start and hill descent control.
Auto-Dimming ORVM -
An auto-dimming ORVM (outside rear-view mirror) is a feature that should be available in cars irrespective of their prices. It is offered only in premium cars. The electric ORVM enables the driver to adjust or control the mirror from inside the vehicle cabin.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System -
Under-inflated tyres not only impact fuel efficiency but braking as well. A tyre pressure monitoring system provides real-time details of all the tyres to the driver on the instrument cluster.
360 Degree Parking Camera -
If you drive mostly in the city, you’d be familiar with the pains of parking a car in tight spots. The availability of a 360-degree parking camera with its bird’s eye view can give a huge boost to a driver’s car positioning skills. It sure is an expensive feature as it requires multiple cameras (minimum 4) and software to stitch these images together but it takes the convenience and luxury factor up a notch. Apart from MG Astor, this feature is only available on cars from premium brands in India such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover.
Power adjustable front seats with memory -
Since a powered seat allows for minute adjustments, it helps the driver get into a better position than a manually adjustable seat can. Powered seats can also be offered with a memory function where the seats can be programmed to get into a specific adjustment level at the touch of a button.
Sunroof -
The sunroof in a car has gone from being a luxury that a few could afford to a feature that many car buyers are now actively considering or seeking when buying their new car. The biggest reason why sunroofs are getting popular is that they give the vibe of luxury cars, they can also be used for ventilation as well, and that can improve AC performance too. MG Astor provides the largest sunroof in the mid-size SUV segment.
