Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan expresses concern over the death of pregnant women at Malakpet Maternity Hospital

Hyderabad, Jan 15: Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, along with the Raj Bhavan pariwar members, took part in the Makar Sankranthi festival celebrations at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Sunday.
The Governor prepared the traditional Pongal dish offered it to the Sun on the occasion of the auspicious harvest festival and served it to all the participants. 
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that the traditional Pongal dish, which means ‘’spilling over” or “boiling over,” signifies the abundance and prosperity and is offered to the Sun as thanks giving as part of the Harvest Festival.
She stated that all our festivals are connected with the Mother Nature that endows us with the abundance, health, and prosperity and added that it should be our bounden-duty to protect Mother Nature for sustainable life on the planet.
Expresses concern at the death of women at Malakpet Maternity Hospital: Interacting with the media persons on the occasion, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed her concern over the tragic death of two pregnant women after undergoing Caesarean section for delivery at Malakpet Maternity Hospital.
“As a doctor, Gynaecologist, I am concerned at the death of women after the C-section. We need to improve the infrastructure at the Government Hospitals as the economically poorer sections’ last hope is government hospitals,” she added.
Advisors to the Governor, Secretary to the Governor K. Surendra Mohan, and other senior officials were present.
