CS Smt Santhi Kumari held a meeting with the MEA officials in BRKR Bhavan
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari explained that TOMCOM Telangana is a pioneer organization bridging the gap between job aspirants and employers abroad. She requested the officials of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to expand and support programmes taken up by Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) which is the registered recruitment agency of the state government.
During a meeting held with the MEA officials in BRKR Bhavan today, CS stated that the state has an incredible legacy of organizing skill development trainings and therefore would like TASK and TOMCOM to be involved in taking up skilling programmes on a larger scale. She thanked the MEA for conducting Pre departure Orientation Training (PDOT) programmes. She sought the cooperation of the MEA to recommend the Ministry of Skill Development to set up India International Skill Centre in Hyderabad in partnership with TOMCOM. Secretary, Overseas India Affairs Ausaf Sayeed assured the state government that they would extend full support to TOMCOM in all its outreach programmes. He informed that the MEA mapped job opportunities in various countries and would support Telangana to take up job relevant programmes.
TOMCOM CEO Vishnuvardhan Reddy made a power point presentation and explained about the activities of TOMCOM. Mobilisation and enrolment of eligible candidates for overseas job opportunities, maintain a database of skilled workers in various sectors and partner with training institutions and organize skill development, outreach and capacity building programmes are some of the activities of TOMCOM.
DGP Anjani Kumar, Special CS Labour Rani Kumudini, Principal Secretary Industries Jayesh Ranjan, Brahma Kumar Joint Secretary, Sushil Kumar Meena under secretary and other officials attended the meeting.
