She stated that through her video conference with different universities the university-wise strengths and weaknesses were being identified and they would be motivated to overcome their weaknesses and consolidate their strengths.
The Governor was reviewing the performance of the Telangana University and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University through video conference from the Raj Bhavan, here, on Friday.
“As our Telangana is a new State, there are many challenges. We need to work even harder with a commitment to improving the rankings with the available resources. Universities’ teachers and administrative officers need to rise to the occasion and help improve the standards,” Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan added.
The series of reviews through the video conferences with different universities, the Governor said were helping her to guide and motivate universities’ functionaries to work in the best interest of the students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Referring to the prevailing pandemic conditions, Dr. Soundararajan exhorted the universities to promote the online sessions for the benefit of the students and advised them to give the much-needed exposure to the students.
“We must initiate to build massive online resources and make them available on university’s databases and digital platform so that whoever could not access the online classes would access them at a later stage,” she said.
The Governor suggested the universities to have their own Youtube channels and make their classes available to the students on a permanent basis.
Increased research activities, alumni associations, setting up of college-wise Red Cross units, and promoting the start-up culture were some other important suggestions from the Governor.
