Tightened Security in Hyderabad; Ban on Drones and Firecrackers
In a move to strengthen security measures in Hyderabad, police authorities have announced significant restrictions, including a ban on drone usage around Shamshabad and prohibitions on the use of firecrackers across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. These decisions were formally issued through separate orders by the Cyberabad and Hyderabad Police Commissioners.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty declared a ban on the use of drones, paragliders, and other aerial objects within a 10-kilometre radius of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. He stated that the decision was made with a strong emphasis on passenger safety. The restrictions take immediate effect and will remain in force until June 9. According to Avinash Mohanty, the aim is to prevent any disruption to air traffic and to ensure there are no security concerns arising in the vicinity of the airport. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone violating the regulations.

In a separate development, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand announced a ban on the use of firecrackers within the limits of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Emphasizing public safety, he specifically prohibited firecracker usage in open areas and cantonment zones.

C.V. Anand noted that loud explosions caused by firecrackers could trigger panic among residents and, in some cases, be misinterpreted as terrorist activity. Given the prevailing tensions along the India-Pakistan border, he urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement. He issued a stern warning that legal action would be taken against anyone found violating these police orders.
