Pawan Kalyan blames YSRCP for Konaseema crop holiday, stage-managed by TDP: Kakani
Amaravati, June 10: Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan on Friday made the YSRCP government responsible for crop holiday declared by farmers in Kharif season under the banner of the Konaseema Rythu Parirakshana Samithi (KRPS).
In a social media post, he said that farmers have declared crop holiday in 50,000 acres as they are not getting support price and suffering losses due to paddy cultivation. He stated that the Jana Sena will fight for the demands raised by the KRPS. After 2011, the KRPS announced crop holiday once again.
Pawan Kalyan alleged that the YSRCP government did not clear Rs 475 crore dues for the paddy purchased from Konaseema farmers. “The government deposited Rs 139 crore into the accounts of farmers after crop holiday was declared,” he mentioned.
Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy responded over the issue of crop holiday. He criticised the TDP for selecting a few farmers to stage protests in order to defame the Jagan government.
