Medico missing case: Vizag NIA team searches residence of Maoist top leader
Medak, June 23: The NIA officials from Visakhapatnam searched the residence of top Maoist leader Dubasi Sankar in Chegunta in the early hours of Thursday. Parents of medico by name Radha registered a missing complaint in Visakhapatnam. They alleged that Radha was forcefully made to join the banned Maoist group.
Based on the information that Dubasi Sankar’s daughter-in-law Swapna is continuing association with the Maoists, the NIA team raided the house and searched for three hours. Swapna had worked with the Chaitanya Mahila Sangam, a banned organisation, in the past.
However, Swapna was not present in the house at the time of raid as she was pregnant and residing at the house of her parents in Hyderabad. The local police were not aware of the NIA officials’ arrival to Chegunta.
Another NIA team from Visakhapatnam took Telangana High Court lawyer Shilpa into custody in Hyderabad on the allegations of luring Radha into Maoist outfit. However, Shilpa reportedly told the NIA that she doesn’t know as to who Radha is.
