Mancherial: Helicopter rescues two shepherds stranded in floodwater

Mancherial, July 14: With the intervention of Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), two shepherds stranded in floodwater rescued by a chopper on Thursday. According to reports, Gattaiah and Saraiah, who belong to Somnapalli in Chennur mandal, set out on Wednesday evening to bring back their cattle to the village. Both walked towards the bank of Godavari river.
 
All of a sudden, water level increased in the river due to heavy inflows from catchment areas, both managed to climb a pump house. One of them informed villagers through mobile that they have stuck in the middle of the river. In turn, villagers alerted Chennur MLA Balka Suman. The MLA sought the help of KTR for rescuing them.
 
Villagers have expressed happiness over successful rescue of shepherds. Suman personally monitored rescue efforts by staying near the site. Now, the video of rescue operation with a helicopter has gone viral on social media.
