KTR appreciates ministers, TRS MLAs for visiting flood-ravaged areas
Hyderabad, July 15: Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday appreciated ministers and TRS MLAs for visiting flood-affected areas and aiding the relief measures.
In a tweet, he posted pictures of Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, BC Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar and TRS MLA Balka Suman walking in knee-deep water and speeding up relief works.
Normal life was paralysed across the state with heavy rains lashing for the last four days. Officials asked people not to come out of their houses. The Telangana government declared holidays for all educational institutions till Saturday.
Ministers and TRS MLAs have been visiting low-lying areas and ensuring people are shifted to relief camps. As the water level reached 68 feet in Godavari river at Bhadrachalam, Section 144 was imposed in Bhadrachalam and Burgampad mandals and people asked to stay indoors. According to reports, water level crossed 60 feet at Bhadrachalam for eighth time since 1976.
