TRS govt freed Nalgonda district from fluoride issue: KCR
Munugode, August 20: Addressing the Praja Deevena meeting here on Saturday to drum up support for the TRS candidate in by-election, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said no state government in combined Andhra Pradesh did not attempt to reduce high fluoride content in drinking water and groundwater.
“I have raised awareness on fluoride issue with title ‘Nalgonda Nagara’ for 15 days during the Telangana movement,” he recalled and mentioned that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had warned Nalgonda district will not be useful for human habitation if efforts were not taken to reduce fluoride level in water to 1 mg per litre from 7 mg per litre.
KCR said that Nalgonda district including Munugode constituency freed from fluoride after TRS government came to power in newly formed Telangana state. “Now, villages and mandals in Nalgonda district are getting fluoride-free drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha,” he stated. Several ministers, TRS MPs and MLAs were present.
