KTR flays Modi govt for not granting single govt medical college to Telangana

Hyderabad, August 29: Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not granting even a single government medical college to newly formed state of Telangana in the last eight years.

In series of tweets, KTR said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has scripted history in medical education. “Prior to 2014, only five government medical colleges were set up in the last 67 years,” he mentioned. After TRS government coming to power, 16 new medical colleges were sanctioned and 13 more will be established very soon making it one medical college per district, he mentioned and shared photos of medical colleges which are almost complete and ready for inauguration.

KTR further said that government medical college at Bhadradri Kothagudem will be opened soon while medical colleges at Wanaparthy, Ramagundam, Jagtial, Sangareddy and Nagar Kurnool are almost completed. “Medical colleges at Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Siddipet and Nalgonda have already started functioning,” he stated.
