Amaravati: Before the last elections, Srinivas, who faced accusations of attacking Chief Minister Jagan with a rooster knife at Visakhapatnam Airport, received significant relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which granted him bail. The High Court, after deliberating on Srinivas's bail petition today, granted him conditional bail. The court had reserved its judgment on January 24 and delivered its verdict today, noting that Srinu had been in jail for the past five years.

Furthermore, the High Court imposed several conditions on Srinu. It ordered him not to speak with the media about the case. He was instructed to submit two sureties along with a bond of Rs. 25,000. He must report every Sunday to the Mummidivaram PS and is prohibited from participating in rallies. Dalit and human rights organizations expressed their happiness over the High Court's decision.

In this case, Jagan is the second witness, while the airport's Assistant Commandant Dinesh Kumar is the first witness. Dinesh has provided his testimony to the NIA. Jagan, unable to attend the court, filed a petition appointing an Advocate Commissioner to testify on his behalf. Consequently, the Advocate Commissioner is appearing in court for Jagan. On the other hand, a petition was filed seeking a deeper investigation into the conspiracy angle of the case, which the NIA court dismissed on July 25, 2023.

The case, occurring at the airport, came under the jurisdiction of the NIA. The NIA court in Vijayawada took up the case for investigation. In May 2019, the NIA court granted bail to Srinivas. Following this, NIA officials filed a petition in the High Court seeking cancellation of the bail, resulting in its revocation. Now, the High Court has approved bail for him again.
