Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that it would be beneficial if KCR himself could explain the greatness of the Kaleshwaram project, which BRS leaders acclaim as a marvel in the world. He invited the former CM KCR, Kaleshwar Rao (referring to Harish Rao), along with MLAs and MLCs, to attend the Medigadda barrage inspection scheduled for Tuesday. He mentioned that a helicopter has been specifically readied at Begumpet Airport for KCR's convenience. Revanth Reddy addressed this matter on Tuesday morning in the assembly.
Revanth Reddy criticized the former CM KCR for discovering the 'magic formula' of project redesign, which led to a significant increase in project estimates. He reminded that opposition parties had raised concerns about cracks in the Medigadda barrage, which were dismissed by the then government, asserting that a heavy police force was deployed to prevent anyone from accessing the barrage and that the previous government hid the failure of the Medigadda barrage. He recalled that former minister Prashant Reddy had gone a step further by filing a complaint with the police, alleging that the barrage was destroyed using explosives. Revanth Reddy explained that such an explosion would send debris flying and cause the ground to cave in, a fact he said even a child could understand.
"Did they blow up the Medigadda barrage with bombs, or did they construct it as weak as a sandcastle?" This question, according to Revanth Reddy, is what the government aims to answer by organizing this tour. He invited MLAs and MLCs from all parties to inspect the Medigadda barrage and proposed discussing the Kaleshwaram project in the assembly a day or two after their visit. He expressed a desire to clarify who benefited from the Kaleshwaram project as if it were an ATM, and to reveal the story and commissions involved.
