The President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Chandrababu Naidu, has made it clear that the party will not be contesting in the ongoing Rajya Sabha elections. He mentioned that there is no consideration of fielding a candidate from TDP for these elections. The discussion took place at his residence in Undavalli, where party leaders including Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Anagani, Kambhampati, Gottipati, and others had gathered. During this meeting, when asked about the Rajya Sabha elections, Chandrababu provided this information.
Chandrababu also noted that several key leaders from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) are in touch with the TDP. However, he stated that it is not possible to accommodate everyone from the other party. He emphasized that mergers and alliances should not lead to losses for the party leaders who have worked hard for the TDP. He assured that all decisions would be taken after deep deliberation. In this meeting, various political issues were discussed along with the upcoming activities, including the involvement of Nara Lokesh in the party's initiatives.
