Hyderabad: The committee established by the Revanth Reddy government to address the issues faced by farmers with the Dharani Portal has made sensational allegations that have created a stir in the state. Members of the committee, in a recent interaction with the media on Monday, accused the previous BRS government of being involved in an unprecedented land scam in Telangana. They criticized the government for allowing the registration of lands that were on the prohibited list, alleging that such lands were transferred to the family of the former minister KTR.
The committee pointed out that until 2014, everyone in the state had equal rights over land, but post-2015, many farmers lost their rights to their lands. They accused the previous government of cleansing land records without any communication with the stakeholders, leading to a complete mess in the revenue system by handing it over to a bankrupt company.
The committee stated that farmers have been severely inconvenienced by the Dharani Portal introduced by the previous government. The multitude of complaints received at the public forums stands as evidence of the issues. They also mentioned that they are looking for ways to resolve these problems. Revanth Reddy had promised to cancel this portal upon coming into power, before the assembly elections. A committee has been set up recently to address the issues related to the Dharani Portal, including its performance and the complaints received. The comments made by this committee about KTR, who played a key role in the previous government, have now become sensational.
