In the backdrop of ongoing raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on opposition leaders, K. Narayana, the National Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), launched a scathing attack on the BJP leadership. He accused the Modi-led government of targeting opposition parties and subjecting them to harassment through ED raids. Narayana questioned, "If the government itself becomes a butcher, who should we complain to? Should we complain to the sheep?"
He commented that those who disrespected democracy have vanished without a trace and opined that it was due to their disregard for opposition that figures like Indira Gandhi and KCR faced defeats.
Narayana further stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continues to face harassment because it has not yet surrendered. He accused the ruling party of misusing electoral bonds, claiming that 92% of the funds raised through these bonds ended up with the BJP.
