New Delhi: In a significant legal setback, BRS MLC Kavita Kalvakuntla's petition challenging her arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was dismissed by the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. Kavita had filed a petition in this court challenging her arrest related to the Delhi liquor policy case. The court, after hearing the arguments, decided to dismiss her petition.
Kavita had submitted two separate petitions: one challenging her arrest and the other questioning the inquiry against her. Both were dismissed by the court. Meanwhile, discussions in the court have concluded regarding another petition by the CBI, seeking her custody for five days.
The judge has reserved the judgment on this petition, which is expected to be delivered soon. If the court grants custody, Kavita will be transferred to the CBI office.
