Chief of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. Chandrashekar Rao, has officially declared Marepalli Sudheer Kumar as the party's candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency. This announcement came after extensive discussions with the district leaders of Warangal at KCR's farmhouse. Initially, there were speculations that Dr. Rajayya might be given the Warangal Lok Sabha seat, which were further fueled by his recent meeting with KCR. However, after consultations with party leaders, KCR declared Sudheer Kumar as the candidate.
Sudheer Kumar, a resident of Hanamkonda district and belonging to the Madiga community, has been serving as the chairman of the Hanamkonda District Council. Since 2001, he has been actively involved in the Telangana movement and has been a dedicated member of the party, working closely with the leadership. The decision to nominate him was unanimously supported by the key leaders of the United Warangal district, following thorough consultations and based on their recommendations.
The meeting at KCR’s farmhouse was attended by several prominent figures, including former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Jangaon MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, and former MLA T. Rajayya. Rajayya, who had resigned from the BRS after the assembly elections, was present at the meeting following an invitation from KCR. Until the last moment, there was suspense over the candidate announcement, with Rajayya also having expectations for the ticket.
