Pushpa-2 Sets New Record as Biggest Release in Indian Cinema
Trade sources are projecting Pushpa-2 as the largest release in Indian cinema. Producers also express confidence that it will set new box office records. This highly anticipated film, starring Allu Arjun and directed by Sukumar, will be released globally on December 5 in 11,500 screens—a record-breaking count in Indian cinema.
This includes 6,500 screens in India and 5,000 screens overseas, across six languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Oriya. The combination of Allu Arjun and Sukumar has previously delivered blockbusters, and their collaboration for Pushpa: The Rise made waves across India, creating high expectations for Pushpa-2: The Rule.
Many in India eagerly await this sequel, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year. In a recent press meet, the producers shared exciting details about the movie’s scale and potential box office impact, underscoring that no Indian film has achieved a release of this magnitude.
Pushpa-2 stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead female role, with Fahadh Faasil, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. Music is by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography led by Polish cameraman Kuba as the director of photography.
