ISKCON spiritual Guru Chinmay Krishna Das, who was arrested in Bangladesh on allegations of insulting the national flag, faced a severe setback today. No lawyer in Bangladesh came forward to represent him during the court hearing.

A few days ago, after Chinmay Krishna Das was arrested, lawyer Regan Acharya represented him in court. However, Regan Acharya was brutally attacked by a group of individuals for doing so. Not only was he severely beaten, but his chamber was also vandalized.

Following these events, during today’s court hearing, no lawyer dared to advocate on behalf of Chinmay Krishna Das. The court has postponed the case’s next hearing to January 2.

Reacting to this, ISKCON spokesperson from West Bengal, Radharamn Das, condemned the dire circumstances in Bangladesh. He stated that Regan Acharya was savagely attacked for defending Chinmay Krishna Das, raising concerns about who would now step forward to take up the case under such threatening conditions.

Radharamn Das also revealed that another lawyer, Ramesh Roy, who supported Chinmay Krishna Das, was also attacked, along with another supporter. He shared a photo of the severely injured lawyer, who is now in critical condition and undergoing treatment in an ICU.
