TTD’s Good News for Devotees of Lord Venkateswara!
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a plan to address the demand for its beloved laddu prasadam, which holds immense significance among devotees. These laddus are not only cherished as a sacred offering but also shared with family and friends. Given the high demand, devotees often face disappointment due to purchase limitations. To resolve this, TTD is gearing up to increase the production of laddus to meet devotees’ requirements.
Additional Staff Recruitment for Increased Production
TTD is taking steps to recruit additional staff to ramp up laddu production. It plans to hire 74 Vaishnavas and 10 non-Vaishnavas to enhance its workforce. This additional workforce aims to produce 50,000 more small laddus, 4,000 large laddus, and 3,500 vadas daily. While the current supply meets routine demand, special occasions like weekends, festivals, and Brahmotsavams witness a surge in laddu requests.
Free and Paid Laddus for Devotees
Currently, every devotee who visits Lord Venkateswara receives one small laddu free of cost. On average, 70,000 devotees visit the temple daily, requiring the distribution of 70,000 free laddus. With the enhanced production capacity, TTD will be able to sell additional laddus to devotees who request more.
Current Production and Distribution
At present, TTD produces 3.5 lakh small laddus, 6,000 large laddus (Kalyanam laddus), and 3,500 vadas daily. These are distributed not only in Tirumala but also at other TTD temples in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Tirupati.
