CM Chandrababu and Nara Lokesh Congratulate Telugu Pride Gukesh on Chess World Title

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu extended heartfelt congratulations to India’s youngest chess world champion Gukesh, celebrating his historic achievement. Taking to social media platform X, he praised Gukesh for becoming the world chess champion at just 18 years old, calling him "our Telugu boy."

“Heartfelt congratulations to our Telugu pride and Indian Grandmaster Gukesh for his extraordinary achievement of becoming the world chess champion at such a young age. The entire nation is celebrating this incredible success,” Chandrababu Naidu wrote. He also wished Gukesh many more victories in the future.

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh also lauded Gukesh's accomplishment. In a congratulatory tweet, he highlighted that Gukesh, at 18, became the world chess champion by defeating defending champion Ding Liren from China. Lokesh noted that Gukesh is only the second Indian to achieve this title, adding, “India is proud of your success.”

Gukesh was born in Chennai in 2006 to Telugu parents Dr. Rajanikant and Dr. Padma. His father is an ENT surgeon, and his mother is a microbiologist. Gukesh began playing chess at the age of seven, setting the stage for his remarkable journey to the top of the chess world.
