YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that the recent farmers' protests have exposed growing public discontent against the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. In a series of social media posts, Jagan praised farmers for taking to the streets against alleged government betrayal and policy failures. He also commended YSRCP leaders and workers for supporting the protests.

Jagan strongly condemned the arrest of YSRCP leaders in NTR district and accused Naidu of misusing the police force to suppress the farmers’ protests. He alleged that TDP leaders resorted to house arrests and other intimidatory tactics, but farmers courageously voiced their demands.

Highlighting specific grievances, Jagan questioned why Chandrababu Naidu failed to deliver on promises such as providing ₹20,000 annual investment assistance to farmers. He criticized the government for allowing middlemen and millers to dominate paddy procurement, causing farmers to lose ₹300-₹400 per bag. He also accused Chandrababu Naidu of scrapping the free crop insurance scheme, adding further financial burden on farmers.

"Is it wrong for farmers to question the government about unfulfilled promises, demand minimum support prices, or submit petitions to district collectors?" Jagan asked. He condemned what he termed as "oppressive tactics" against the protesting farmers, calling it evidence of a "tyrannical mindset."

Jagan also criticized the "undemocratic" manner in which water users' association elections were conducted, alleging that TDP was nominating its preferred candidates. He questioned the arrest of YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy and announced that YSRCP would boycott these elections in protest.

"YSRCP will continue to fight on behalf of farmers until justice is served," Jagan declared.
