Low-Pressure Area in South-Central Bay of Bengal: Three Days of Rain Forecast for Andhra Pradesh

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Amaravati division announced the formation of a low-pressure area in the South-Central Bay of Bengal due to surface cyclonic circulation. This system is expected to intensify into a deep depression over the next 48 hours and move northwestwards towards the Tamil Nadu coast.
As a result, Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience rainfall. Heavy rains are forecasted in some parts of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts from December 17 to 19.
Light to moderate showers, accompanied by thunder and lightning, are expected in other parts of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema from December 17 to 20.
