Arguments commenced in the Telangana High Court on the quash petition filed by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), seeking dismissal of the case registered against him in connection with the Formula E car racing event. Senior Supreme Court lawyer Sundaram is representing KTR, while Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy is arguing on behalf of the state government.

During the hearing, Sundaram contended that the case against KTR was politically motivated. He questioned why the FIR did not mention any financial benefit accrued to KTR through fund disbursements related to the event. He argued that the charges filed against KTR under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act) were not applicable.

Sundaram pointed out that the agreement for the race was finalized 14 months before the case was registered. He clarified that while an agreement was signed for Season 9 of the race, no separate agreement was required for Season 10. He questioned the rationale behind filing a case against KTR when funds were transferred directly to the race organizers.

He further stated that the state government had paid funds to Formula E Operations Limited (FEO) in two installments and that the company had requested payment of the third installment. However, he alleged that the Congress government had refused to release the funds. He argued that if election rules had been violated, a complaint should have been filed with the Election Commission, not the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
